USC Dworak-Peck School of Social Work

Preparing highly skilled, enthusiastic and compassionate social workers to confront the most complex problems affecting individuals and communities is what the USC Dworak-Peck School of Social Work is known for.
Social workers help society address the greatest challenges of our time, and influence how the next generation will respond to the challenges of the future. Recent changes in federal policy are creating many questions for the social work profession. Our faculty are actively engaged in dialogue with our students around potential impacts through focused discussions. I believe it is essential that we operate from a place of knowledge and experience during this time, and not from a place of fear. It is important to remember that USC has been educating social workers for over a century, through many difficult periods of our country’s history. As a school, we are committed to upholding the values of compassion, empathy, and respect for all individuals, regardless of background, belief, or circumstances. We will continue to practice these values as a social work community dedicated in service to others.
Often an interdisciplinary understanding and approach to solutions is necessary, and we continue to develop more opportunities for students to learn how social work can partner with other disciplines to create lasting change. In large part, this is driven by the community-based research of our faculty which guides our teaching and, in turn, informs the educational experience of our students. The problems we face as a society are growing more and more complex and require highly trained practitioners to navigate a constantly evolving landscape of needs.
This Day of Scupport, join us in supporting the next generation of Trojan changemakers who will be fighting for a brighter future for our communities.
Fight On!
