Help Strengthen Primary Care—Today

Los Angeles is facing an urgent shortage of primary care physicians, especially in communities with the greatest need. At the Keck School of Medicine of USC, we are preparing the next generation of doctors to step into this gap, bringing care, continuity and compassion to underserved neighborhoods.

The Primary Care Initiative (PCI) was created to address this growing crisis. Since launching in 2011, the program has nearly doubled the number of students entering family medicine and now represents more than 25% of each KSOM class. Our students provide vital services to elderly, unhoused, and food‑insecure Angelenos, strengthening the primary care pipeline when it matters most.

Why Give on Day of SCupport?

April 29 is Day of SCupport—USC’s largest day of giving.

Your gift today helps:

  • Expand access to primary care in vulnerable communities

  • Reduce financial barriers for students committed to service

  • Sustain a proven program that delivers real, measurable impact

Primary care careers are deeply meaningful, yet often financially challenging. Support on Day of SCupport ensures students can serve where they’re most needed, without compromise.

Your gift today helps shape the future of primary care in Los Angeles and the health of the communities who depend on it.
