Overcoming Modern Challenges
The challenges of the past several years have led to unprecedented levels of stress, increasing the risk of substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. At the USC Center for Mindfulness Science, we are addressing these issues head-on. Our collaborative hub fosters individual and societal well-being through a scientific understanding of mindfulness.
Innovative Research Initiatives
Our current studies explore the transformative effects of mindfulness on various groups, including at-risk youth, university students, medical residents, and veterans. We are investigating the neural mechanisms through which mindfulness alleviates depression and anxiety. Additionally, we are examining how meditation impacts brain activity in expert practitioners to assess its long-term potential. Excitingly, we are launching a new program to evaluate the combined benefits of mindfulness and meditation training in concert with psychedelic-assisted therapy.
Our Commitment
We are dedicated to pioneering interdisciplinary, cutting-edge scientific research into the vast potentials of the human mind. We emphasize the critical importance of mental, physical, and spiritual health. Your generous support will enable us to advance our mindfulness research in the neurophysiologic, clinical, and sociological sciences. Together, we can unlock new insights and create a healthier, more resilient society.
Expanding Our Impact
We also aim to establish a clinical service at the Keck School of Medicine and LA General Medical Center campuses, providing mindfulness-centered care for the citizens of Los Angeles, at all economic levels.

We invite everyone to join and support us on this journey toward creating a kinder, wiser, and more compassionate world through mindfulness.
